Khutbatul Eid ul fitr- English Part

By: Khatib Tajul Islam

Asalamualaikum Warahmatulahi Wabarakatu,

May peace and blessings be upon you all,
Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest and there is no God but Allah, Allah is the greatest and all praises be to Allah, for him only.
All praises to Allah who has given us given us the opportunity to fast for one whole month and allow us a day of happiness in the end; this is Eid ul Fitr.
Allah says in the Quran ;
(And he desires that you complete the prescribed period of fasting. And glorify God for His Guidance to you; that you may be grateful. Al-baqarah 2:185)
Our beloved prophet has also said ;
For every nation, has their festivals and celebrations. We have our own day of happiness which is Eid.

The meaning of Eid is happiness. Taking this happiness, Muslims from all corners of the world, are celebrating Eid today. After observing one whole long month of fasting, today is the day in which believers claim their rewards and achievements from Allah. From every pathway we cross, the presence of Allah’s angels are welcoming us with joy. With the permission of Allah, they are sent down to declare to state that our sins have been forgiven. This is why Allah indicates this special day as an reward receiving day.

From all corners of world, there is chanting sound of Allah’s names’ resonating that he is the greatest. This is the highest form of us achieving to convey his level of excellence and mercy. Indeed, we are for him and surely do we return back to our creator.
He is Allah, who has created the whole of mankind from one single drop of clay.
From Asia to Europe, Africa to north America, Australia to South America the whole world has come into being from one and only Adam and Hawa.

This is why Allah says in the Quran ;
(O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer. ( An-Nisa 4:1)

After creating the human beings, he did not just leave them and turn away. Instead, he showed a pathway of right guidance and given the power of light.
That’s why Allah sent Adam Safihullah, Ibrahim Khalilullah, Musa, kalimullah, Isa Ruuhullah, all from different centuries of time, with different holy books of guidance for the human beings so that they may follow.
Without any doubt, I can say all from the very beginning of creation of human beings, Allah’s guidance is what initially guided and Islam to have begun.
Allah says in the Quran;
(This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion. 5:3 Al-Maidah)

After many obstruction and trials that had been tolerated, Allah had finally completed his guidance through the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), as a last and final messenger of Allah.
The way in which the mind has been developed through various stages slowly, step by step to attain knowledge, the hidayah and his guidance also takes in the form of his revelation in the same way.
Allah says in the Quran;
(Has there not been over humans a long period of Time, when they was nothing – (not even) mentioned? Ad-Dahr 76:1)

With the development of such mindset, the advanced skills that progressed over the centuries has led to human beings wanting to reach to even live in another planet. Verily, this idea has been stated in the Quran itself.

This is why I am saying that Islam is not a new idea or opinion. Like we consider the first and second testament, the Quran is only the final revelation and last testament which has not been altered.

Those who believe in religion, the Quran says ;

(Say, “O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you – that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah .” But if they turn away, then say, “Bear witness that we are Muslims [submitting to Him].” Al-Imran 3:64)
So why, we ask ourselves is there hatred, jealousy and digression between us? A Muslim cannot be a proper believer until there is full level of respect for the prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) And his mother Mary, was a pious soul. We can see even in the Quran, in her honour there has been a separate chapter for her known as Surah Maryam.
In addition to this, different verses in the Quran state that:
(There shall be no forcing of the religion [Islam]. The right course has become clear from the wrong. Al-Baqarah 2:256)

My dear respected people, the meaning of Islam means submission and surrendering. A Muslim surrenders himself for Allah (swt), obeying Him and following His guidance. His activities should surrounded by what has been prescribed for him by Allah.
If this is the reality, I am very upset to know about the happenings of recents acts which I will give you examples of the disobedience.
A radicalised and mad man came in heart of London, parliament square, driving over various innocent pedestrians.He also started to attack on the police who were protecting the people. He took away at least 7 lives, leaving many injured. As a result, everyone despite their religion marched against such heinous act of crime, including myself.
Within a short amount of time, without having the chance to mourn properly, we had to hear about another incident. This took place in Manchester Arena, a place where people gathered to enjoy their night of enjoyment. Upon ending the concert, while people were leaving, a terrorist, one of the most dangerous creatures blew up himself along with 22 people, most if not all were children leaving many injured. I cannot put in words how painful and upsetting this news came to me.

After a few days, the shock and grief were still there. However, we were yet to hear another disgraceful news of terrorist pervading into our streets once more. This is the attack on London bridge. Our heart is broken, and our head is boiled down in embarrassment.
They colour our Islam with a bad name, creating a disgusting image that we condone killing of innocent people which is certainly not the case.
First of all we give our deepest thoughts and prayers to everyone affected and pray that their soul reaches peace.
My brothers and sisters, a country has given a privilege, a peaceful life, to live our own life in comfort. How can we then go and return their favours in slurring hate and crime in their land? This is an unimaginable and out of the world to even comprehend.
In the gospel, Bible, there is a short story of that the prophet witnessed a immoral lady who was doomed to hell because of the sins, fed a thirsty dog one day. Because of this simple act of kindness, she was forgiven and granted heaven.
So then, it is incredible to think how humans can get away with killing their own people and think they will be blessed in the hereafter as a result? That is completely unspeakable
All this attacks, are barbaric, acts of genocides and against human beings. A plan established against peace. All of this are terrorist activities.
I want to say to the terrorists that ‘look, we are united, you cannot break our unity and peace!’ From the top to the bottom of this country, everyone denied these aggressions that took place. Regardless of race and religion, everyone is British we are the same.
The terrorists has been defeated, and we will continue to do so, everyday, for the rest of our lives.
In the Quran, Allah (swt) mentioned ;
Whoever kills a soul unless it is as if he had killed mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. (Al-Maidah 5:32)
These killers, I wonder then how many innocent people they have killed and not only that but how many times have they murdered the mankind? They think that by doing this, by dying they have been released from this sin. However this is not true. The punishment has only begun for them. Our ulamas, scholars have denied to provide funeral services to these terrorists. Not only that, but I can say that, they also lose the right to be buried in Great Britain. These aggressors, this is not their land, never will be. Finally I say, in the hereafter, the hellfire (jahannnam) awaits them.
We thank the authority and police, to be able to maintain continually in helping the community feel safe. Even the recent attack on Finsbury park mosque, where a person lost their life with others injured, the police made sure they gave all they can to help the wounded and arrest the terrorist.
We honour Imam Muhammad, who prevented any outrage response of physical abuse in retaliation to the attacker. This is the teaching of Islam in which a person cannot take the law and order into their own hands. If we live in this country, then we must abide by their laws.
(And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah ; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty. (Al-Maidah 5:2)
Ramadan is the month of Sabr (Patience) and controlling ourselves. If we hear something, we should not become crazy, and take the law in our hands. The real Muslim is someone who respects the law of the land he is in, the cultures and becomes a part of his society.
My dear respected, if someone does not like this country, the door is open for him to leave anytime. But by taking all the benefits and facilities that this country gives, and secretly causes damage, developing crimes; this not only against society, but most importantly Islam and the teachings of Allah.
This is why I tell everyone to keep their eyes open if you hint any sense of disharmony.
I want to say to my younger generation,
Oh brothers and sisters, go reach for the golden dreams, and turn yourself away from hate and show your mercy, love and kindness and enjoin joy for the world. Dislike the sin, but not the sinner. They are more in need of your support and sympathy.
This is our country, our society which progressions that we need to comprehend and get to grips with. We must be alert in that everyone has their own equal rights to live by peacefully.
My brothers and sisters, our beloved Prophet (saw) said;
(Every one of you is responsible and certainly you will be asked about your responsibility. Sahih Bukhari 6719, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi)
It will not work if you remain blind to a situation or not care about it, we must be alert and be knowledgeable and show your responsibility. We cannot to tolerate any kind of crimes.
Dear respected,
This the Islam we are representative of, initiating from the Madina Sanad (Madina declaration) which involves many people of different colours and faiths combining us all together in one place. Our Quran teaches us that, do not curse the people who worship idols, because unknowingly they will curse your God.
Islam is the civilisation in which gives women the highest position of women. Our prophet (Saw) orders us to give their labour demand before their own sweat dries. Islam teaches us to safeguard all other worship places of others.
For justice, tolerance and righteousness, Allah (swt) says in the Quran
(Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression Al-Nahl 16:92)

My dear respected, I want to give my remembrance and attention, respect and solidarity to the Grenfell tower victims. We pray that Allah eases the families of victim’s eases their pain and sorrow. We pray that Allah keeps us safe from any future disasters.
Finally, we thank the emergency services and all public authorities serving the nation for the better, the police, fire, and the ambulance service, who risk their lives every day to help us
We stand together with the victims and the communities affected.
I would like to thank the people who have arranged this beautiful Eid festival. Wishing everyone a wonderful Eid Mubarak
Lets come together and say

(O mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the hearts and guidance and mercy for the believers. Say, “In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy – in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate.” Al-Yunus 57/58)
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar…

Finally, we thank the emergency services and all public authorities serving the nation for the better, the police, fire, and the ambulance service, who risk their lives every day to help us
We stand together with the victims and the communities affected.
I would like to thank the people who have arranged this beautiful Eid festival. Wishing everyone a wonderful Eid Mubarak
